TW Research Ltd

About Us

TW Research Ltd. was set up in September 1995 to provide a high quality, cost effective research service and to offer impartial technical advice, particularly in the areas of radar systems design and assessment and mathematical modelling.

The principal researchers, K.D. Ward, R.J.A. Tough and P.W. Shepherd have extensive experience, gained both within TW Research and previously when they worked for the UK Ministry of Defence at RSRE Malvern on topics ranging from theoretical physics to maritime radar, seekers and remote sensing.

They are the authors of numerous journal and conference papers. Ward and Tough have recently co-authored the book "Sea Clutter: Scattering the K-Distribution and Radar Performance", with Simon Watts of Thales, UK.

Professor E. Jakeman FRS, who is employed part-time with the company, is internationally renowned for his work in theoretical and applied physics, particularly in the areas of quantum and statistical optics.

The company was founded in the belief that such high level expertise, when backed up by the facilities of modern computing, information and communication technologies, can provide timely and effective solutions to those critical, fundamental, problems that determine the success or failure of larger projects.

As a small company, TW Research is able to offer an individual, responsive and committed approach to its clients’ problems that cannot be provided by the much larger companies, laboratories and institutions where a comparable level of expertise is normally found. Also, being such a small organisation ensures that overheads are kept to an absolute minimum; TW Research is thus able to provide a keenly priced service of the very highest standard.
